5 Things We Love About Grindstone McAllen

Why do we love our new Grindstone location? Let us count the ways. Situated at the corner of Trenton Rd. and 10th St., Grindstone McAllen offers a perfect location to work on your hustle and have a damned good time doing it. Here are just a few reasons why we love our new office space:

Optimal Convenience

Our new McAllen office space is located in one of the busiest areas of the Rio Grande Valley, meaning there’s plenty of opportunity for success all around. There’s a UPS store within walking distance for your business needs, as well as a nail salon, clothing shops and grocery stores like HEB, Target and nearby Sprouts. There’s truly no good reason not to knock out your to-do list everyday with all of the necessary spots located just seconds away.

A Foodie’s Paradise

The possibilities for a delicious meal are endless at Grindstone McAllen. Our unique location means food choices galore. Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches is just a few steps away from our office, as are popular eateries like Russo’s New York Pizzeria, Yoko’s Sushi Bar and Starbucks in case the mood strikes you.

Get Fit While You Work

Your health is important, and Grindstone McAllen offers awesome opportunities to get fit during your work day. CycBar is located within our building, so you can take a break to work up a sweat. Gold’s Gym is located right down the road on 10th and Dove, and there are a number of healthy food eateries, such as Fork 2 Fit and Protein House all within walking distance or a short drive away.

Who’s Down For Happy Hour?

A happy life is all about balance. While Grindstone Coworking members are good at being productive, we’re just as good at letting loose. Our proximity to a number of McAllen pubs leaves endless potential for a little after-work fun. From Coast cocktails, to beers at Russo’s, to margaritas at nearby Costa Messa, Happy Hours are about to get a whole lot more fun at Grindstone McAllen.

Enjoy Multiple Spaces

Working at Grindstone McAllen is awesome, but there’s more. Grindstone Coworking members receive access to both of our Edinburg and McAllen offices, so whether you’re driving into the Valley or on your way out, there’s a friendly place to get work done. Our Edinburg office has a conference room and large training room available to reserve, so if you’ve got an important meeting with one person or 20, there’s a fun environment to get together in.

Grindstone Coworking Announces New McAllen Location

Grindstone Coworking is excited to announce the opening of its new McAllen office space this September. Located at the intersection of 10th street and Trenton Rd. at Trenton View Plaza, the new communal office space is now accepting membership applications and pre-leasing for private office suites.

As the Rio Grande Valley’s first coworking space, Grindstone Coworking and its dual locations are expected to bring new opportunities to remote workers, freelancers and small business owners in the Rio Grande Valley. To kick things off, the space is offering an Early Bird Special, now available exclusively to the first 20 members to sign up.

“The success we’ve seen with our first location in Edinburg is testament to the growth and acceptance of the coworking culture in the RGV. Gone are the days where you need huge desks, cords, and phone lines to work. Laptops, tablets, and cell phones are now powerful enough to run businesses from, and our location offers a go-to spot to get it all done productively, with a more social environment than the coffee shop or home office,” said Daniel Rivera, founder of Grindstone Coworking.

Grindstone Coworking is expanding to the McAllen area to offer additional flexibility for existing members, as well as new members located in the McAllen and Mission areas. The new office provides members a vibrant communal space to work from, while there are also several newly remodeled private office suites for lease.

“We’re excited for our new location for a number of reasons. Our proximity to some of McAllen’s most booming businesses offers more benefits and convenience for our members, and with two locations now, our members get to experience the flexibility and additional business opportunities that come with workspaces across two different cities.”

Monthly Grindstone coworking memberships, which start at $149, include access to networking mixers, small business education classes, marketing seminars and other events. With Grindstone McAllen’s office suites, you’ll receive all the benefits of coworking with the privacy you need for optimal productivity.

Grindstone Coworking was established in 2015. The coworking space’s first location, situated in Edinburg’s downtown area, is open to freelancers, remote workers and a variety of other professionals such as attorneys, accountants, tech professionals and real estate agents, among many others.

Monthly coworking memberships and private office leases provide access to a variety of amenities including a shared kitchen and café area, limitless Moonbeans coffee, a conference room, classroom and other features beneficial to small businesses and independent workers.

If you’re interested in joining a community of fellow remote workers, freelancers and entrepreneurs with a common goal of success, don’t hesitate. 3 Productivity Tips to Help Your Hustle

3 Simple Productivity Tips to Help Your Hustle

It can be easy to get caught up in the people watching when working out of a coffee shop. It’s even easier to get caught up in the everyday duties when working from home. Distractions can even take place within the Coworking space. Here are a few things that you can do to alleviate some of the distractions.

Invest in headphones.

Plug in your headphones or connect them via Bluetooth and away you go. Headphones are a visual representation to others that you’re “in the zone”. It also helps keep you focused. Many times, the conversation next to us sounds really interesting, and we lose sight of what we’re supposed to actually be doing. Do yourself a favor and tune out others so that you can get your stuff done.

Punch List/To-Do List

For some of us, it’s easier to stay focused when we have our daily tasks written down. If you have a deadline to meet at the end of the week/month, it’s nice to be able to break down your tasks on a day-to-day or week-to-week basis so you’re not cramming it all in at the last minute. A to-do list also helps you feel accomplished when you can strike or check something off of it. It’s like a little pat on the back for finishing something off that list. And we could always do with some positive reinforcement.

Schedule Breaks

It sounds ridiculous- how are you supposed to know when you need to go to the restroom? Or feel like having a cigarette? Or even when you’re going to get an email? You don’t. But you CAN schedule when you act upon them. By scheduling a 5-minute break every hour, you can work through until your scheduled break. You’ll have something to look forward to and can then be more productive with those other 55 minutes.

Turn off the notifications from your emails, too. You don’t have to read every email that comes in right away. Dedicate 15 minutes every two hours to read and respond to your emails. If it’s life and death, that person can always call you.

Keep in mind what also works for you and your business. Some things may not be beneficial to your hustle, either. If your gig is consistent email conversations, then scheduling a time to work on emails throughout the day is not conducive to being successful. If your gig is networking, then plugging in your headphones is not going to boost your business.

There’s a time and a place for everything. It’s all boils down to time management and discipline. The beauty of coworking is that it allows you to be social and continue your hustle at the same time. But your level of success still depends on how much time in your day you dedicate to your hustle.
